Dance Styles

We find that people learn to dance for many different reasons but what they learn is determined by the music they like and the occasions where they are looking to use their dancing.
These fall into three broad categories, Ballroom and Latin, South American and Wedding styles of dancing. At Dance Generation Dance Studios each dance style is taught with the aim of giving you the ability, confidence and understanding of the variety of dances that make up each style, so you can enjoy your type of music and time on the dance floor. In our Ballroom and Latin style the dances covered are Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha and Swing. These dances cover a wide range of music from classical to crooner, from blues and jazz to rock n roll, whatever your taste in music the aim is for you to be able to dance to it all. We teach using today’s hit music through to strict tempo pieces, we aim to ensure your dancing is usable. In our South American style the dances covered are Salsa, Samba, Mambo, Merengue, Lambada/Zouk and Argentine Tango. One of the largest ranges of South American dances available. We teach to authentic South American music and how to recognise the beat in hit music to ensure you have the greatest use of your dancing.
