A very popular dance that is lots of fun and gives you a great work out ... so let's Salsa! Samba The lively beat of the Samba makes you want to dance. Don't be afraid you will not need to put on feathers and a tiny bikini, there is a social form of samba that is a lot of fun. It has high energy and the fast rhythmic beat will really make you feel good. Mambo The music is great, the dance is versitile and it has a great cuban feel, what's not to love. The dance can be made to look very much like Salsa or very much like fast Cha Cha, always lively and cheeky with as much syling and emotion as you are prepared to add, get lost in the latin feel Even the faster music in the club scene today makes for a great Mambo and yes you guessed it, the Mambo also gives you a great work out. Merengue This dance is great for beginners as it is danced on the beat and is very easy to learn. Partners weave in and out and around one another, the strong hip action makes this a very sexy dance. Advanced dancers incorporated a lot of twists and turns much like a pretzel. If the music has a good solid beat, you can always Merengue to it. Lambada or Zouk Probably not a dance for the faint hearted. This dance is danced in a very close position at the hips and is all about swaying the hips and features layback dips. Like almost all of the South American dances the Lambada offers a great work out and is a lot of fun. Although it's not one of the easiest dances to master, it is definitely one of the sexiest. Zouk is the newest form of the Lambada dance and is a lot more open and features the lady styling the dance with bold head movements. Argentine Tango This dance has captured the imagination of the dancing public and has enjoyed a huge revival in recent times. Its intricate figures and fiery attitude are not for those that don't want to be noticed. All good dancers reserve a special place for the Tango and it is the only dance found in both dance styles. The Ballroom Tango could best be described as the more sophisticated of the two whereas the Argentine Tango reflects a type of raw passion and moodiness that is characteristic of this dance. |
